Auto Module Lab repairs and programs vehicle control modules by mail, at our Arlington, Texas shop and over remote sessions. This page explains what information we collect, why, who receives it and the choices you have. Questions or requests: contact@automodulelab.com or (817) 678-3252.

What we collect

When you order

  • Your name, e-mail, phone number and return shipping address.
  • Vehicle details and VIN, module part numbers, your answer about earlier work on the module and any notes you add.
  • The service agreement you accept at checkout: the acknowledgments, your typed signature, and the IP address and browser details at the moment you signed. We keep this as the record of your authorization.
  • Payment is made on Square's page. We receive the card brand, the last four digits and the receipt link, never the card number.

When you contact us

  • Texts and calls to our phone line, messages from the chat on this site, e-mails, messages to our Facebook Page, and the contact and discount forms (name, e-mail, phone, vehicle and your message).
  • The "Check my module" form: your name, mobile number, e-mail, the vehicle, what is wrong and, when you arrived from an ad, that ad's click identifier and campaign. We use it to answer that request by text and e-mail, including a few follow-ups if we do not hear back. E-mail beyond that only with the separate box ticked, and every e-mail has an unsubscribe link.
  • An automated assistant reads and answers many texts and Facebook messages, and a person takes over when needed. To draft its answers, the text of the conversation is processed by an AI provider (Anthropic).

When you browse the site

  • Our own page-view counters (one for this site, one shared with our other sites) use no cookies. They keep the page, the referring site's address, the device type, the country and a visitor code that changes every day, and never store your IP address or browser details.
  • Click records for calls, texts, e-mails, outside links and our order buttons: the page, the button's own label and the link target. Never anything you type.
  • Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookie-free and reports aggregated statistics.

Advertising tags

We advertise on Facebook, Instagram and Google, and use their tools to see which ads lead to orders. They run only on our public pages, never on account, order-status or shop-portal pages.

  • Meta Pixel and Google Ads tag. They record page views, which services you look at, when you start a checkout, purchases (order value and the services bought) and taps on our call, text, e-mail, WhatsApp and Messenger links. They set cookies in your browser (Meta's _fbp, and _fbc after an ad click; Google's advertising cookies), and Meta and Google receive your IP address and browser details.
  • Meta Conversions API. When an order is paid, our server reports the purchase to Meta: the order value and services, plus your e-mail, phone, name, city, state and ZIP code, which are scrambled with a one-way hash (SHA-256) before they leave our server. With it go the Meta cookies, IP address and browser details recorded when you started the checkout. Meta uses this to match the purchase to an ad you saw or clicked. We keep those checkout details for 90 days.
  • Which ad brought you. When you arrive from an ad or a tagged link, your browser keeps the click identifier (Google's gclid, Meta's fbclid) and the campaign tags for 90 days, and they are saved with a checkout or a module-check request so we know which ads lead to orders. No cookie is set for this.

Your choices

  • If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we do not load the Meta Pixel or the Google Ads tag, and we do not report your purchase to Meta.
  • You can also change your ad settings at Meta (facebook.com/adpreferences) and Google (myadcenter.google.com), or block or delete cookies in your browser.

How we use it

  • To do the work you ordered: shipping labels, bench work, testing and the return shipment.
  • To answer your questions and send order texts and e-mails.
  • To honor warranties, keep accounting records and respond to payment disputes.
  • To improve the site and measure our advertising.

Who receives it

We share information only with the companies that run parts of our service:

  • Square, for payments.
  • Shippo, USPS and UPS, for shipping labels and delivery (name, address and phone).
  • Twilio, for texts and calls; SendGrid, for e-mail.
  • Meta, for Facebook messages and advertising; Google, for advertising.
  • Anthropic, for the automated assistant's answers.
  • Vercel, which hosts this site.

We do not sell your personal information for money.

How long we keep it

Orders, signed service agreements and payment records are kept for as long as we need them for the work, warranties, accounting and payment disputes. Checkout details for ad measurement are deleted after 90 days.

Texts and messages

Reply STOP to a text from us to stop texts. On Facebook Messenger, write "stop" and the automated assistant stops answering.

Your requests

To see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, e-mail contact@automodulelab.com. Some records, such as orders and payments, have to be kept for accounting and dispute reasons.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
