Toyota / Lexus FAQ

Brand-specific questions.

I lost all the smart keys to my Toyota or Lexus. What service is that?
That is our Toyota/Lexus Smart-Key All-Keys-Lost / Key Generation service ($250). We read the smart-key certification ECU on the bench and generate a working smart key so the car starts, which is different from cloning a donor cert ECU. Roughly 2010-2017 push-to-start is supported; 2018+ is verified by VIN first.
Why won't a used Toyota ECU start my car?
Because the immobilizer data is stored in the Denso engine ECU, a used ECU carries a different immobilizer key set and the car will not start. The fix is either cloning your original ECU data onto the donor or performing an immo-off for legitimate repair or orphaned-platform cases.
What is the difference between immo-off, cloning, and key generation?
Immo-off removes the immobilizer requirement from the Denso ECU for a legitimate repair or standalone build; cloning copies your original ECU data (including immobilizer) onto a donor so it drops in; key generation creates a new working smart key from the certification ECU for all-keys-lost. A technician confirms which fits your car.
Do you require proof of ownership?
Yes. All key and immobilizer work requires proof of ownership and valid ID or verified business credentials, because generating keys or removing an immobilizer on a vehicle you cannot prove you own is not something we do.
