Service Terms

Each product class has its own terms document: mail-in module services, remote programming sessions, and hardware/equipment. The applicable document(s) are shown and accepted during checkout; the exact version you accept is recorded with your order and never changes afterward. Questions? Contact us before ordering — we're happy to explain anything here.

1. WHO WE ARE AND WHAT THESE TERMS COVER

Auto Module Lab ("AML", "we", "us") is a mail-in automotive electronic module service operated by DLP Mobile Services LLC, with bench facilities in Arlington, Texas. These Mail-In Service Terms (the "Terms") govern every mail-in module service, module repair, programming, cloning, virginization, data service, and ready-to-install programmed part you purchase from automodulelab.com. By accepting these Terms during checkout you enter a service agreement with Auto Module Lab for the specific service(s), vehicle, and price shown in your order review.

2. SERVICE AUTHORIZATION

You authorize Auto Module Lab to receive, inspect, test, open, disassemble, repair, reprogram, program, clone, virginize, read data from, and write data to the module(s) you send us, as reasonably required to perform the service you purchased. Electronic module work necessarily involves reading and modifying the module's memory and, where the service requires it, opening the module housing. Opening a module housing may void any remaining manufacturer or prior-repair warranty on that part; where a specific service variant requires opening the unit, we proceed under this authorization unless your service page stated we would confirm with you first.

3. TURNAROUND TIMES ARE ESTIMATES

Turnaround times displayed on our website, in your order review, and in these Terms are good-faith ESTIMATES of bench time after your module arrives at our facility, not guaranteed completion or delivery dates. Many standard jobs genuinely complete the same or next business day. However, turnaround may be extended when a job requires additional testing, additional components, donor modules, special-order parts, additional programming or calibration steps, security-access processing, repair of damage discovered on the bench (including water damage, corrosion, or prior repair attempts), or other conditions we could not know before physically inspecting your module. Shipping time in both directions, carrier delays, and time waiting for information, parts, or modules from you are not part of the bench turnaround estimate.

4. DELAYS AND COMMUNICATION

If we determine your job will materially exceed the displayed estimate, we will contact you using the contact details on your order with the reason and a revised estimate. It is your responsibility to provide accurate contact information and to respond to our messages; time spent waiting on a response from you extends the estimate accordingly. A delay in completing the work within the estimated time is not, by itself, a failure to provide the service.

5. ADDITIONAL WORK AND ADDITIONAL CHARGES

The price you pay at checkout covers the specific service described on the service page and order review. If bench inspection shows your module needs work beyond that scope (for example: board-level repair on a module sent in for programming, a donor module, or additional components), we will contact you with the finding and the additional cost, and we will not perform chargeable additional work without your approval. Approvals are recorded on your order history together with the amount, description, date, and the method by which you approved. If you decline the additional work, we will return your module; the diagnosis/bench-time portion of your original service may be non-refundable as described in Section 10, and return shipping applies.

6. DIAGNOSTIC LIMITATIONS — THE MODULE, NOT THE VEHICLE

We service the module you send us. We do not have your vehicle. Bench testing verifies the module's own operation to the extent bench equipment allows; it cannot verify your vehicle's wiring, grounds, power supply, connectors, sensors, other control units, network communication faults, mechanical condition, or the accuracy of the diagnosis that led you to send this module. A correctly repaired or programmed module does not guarantee your vehicle's symptom is resolved, because the symptom may have additional or different causes. If your vehicle still shows a fault after installing a module we serviced, contact us first — bench re-testing under our warranty is free — but vehicle-side diagnosis, labor, towing, rental, or other consequential costs are not covered. This section describes the limits of what bench service can verify; it does not excuse work we actually performed defectively — defective work is covered by the Warranty in Section 11.

7. CONDITION OF SUBMITTED MODULES

Modules that arrive with water damage, corrosion, burned components, physical damage, missing components, or evidence of prior repair attempts carry a materially higher risk that the service takes longer, needs additional work, or is not possible at all. Where a service is advertised with a free or included evaluation, that evaluation determines feasibility before chargeable work proceeds. Where recovery of a damaged or bricked module is attempted, you acknowledge that recovery may not be possible and that additional write attempts made before shipping reduce recovery odds. If a purchased service proves technically impossible on your specific unit, we refund as described in Section 10.

8. SHIPPING, PACKAGING, AND RISK

You are responsible for packaging your module safely (anti-static protection and padding) and for shipping it to the address shown in your order confirmation. Where your order includes a prepaid inbound label, using it is optional but recommended. Return shipping is charged at the tier you selected at checkout and is not free. We are not responsible for carrier loss, damage, or delay in either direction; carrier claims are pursued against the carrier. Title to your module remains with you; modules unclaimed 90 days after we request a return address or after completed work may be treated as abandoned.

9. SPECIAL-ORDER AND CUSTOMER-SPECIFIC PARTS

Some services require Auto Module Lab to purchase, source, reserve, prepare, or configure a replacement module, donor module, emulator, key, component, or other part specifically for your vehicle or order — including ready-to-install programmed modules, supply-a-part services, and jobs where bench work shows a donor part is needed and you approve it. Before any such procurement or preparation begins, you may cancel under the normal cancellation stages in Section 10. Once a special-order or customer-specific item has been ordered, purchased, reserved, or prepared on your behalf, documented non-recoverable procurement costs (for example, a part purchased for your VIN that our supplier will not take back, or takes back only minus a supplier charge) may be deducted from any cancellation refund. Once VIN-specific programming, cloning, coding, customization, repair, or other bench work begins on the part or your module, the applicable service portion is considered started and follows the started/completed stages of Section 10. Any deduction under this section must be based on a charge disclosed to you or a documented non-recoverable cost actually incurred for your order — never an undisclosed flat penalty — and nothing in this section limits rights that cannot legally be waived.

10. CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS

Refunds follow the stage your order has actually reached:

(a) Before any special-order procurement and before your module ships to us: full refund.

(b) After a special-order or customer-specific part has been purchased, reserved, or prepared for your order (Section 9), but before bench work begins: refund minus documented non-recoverable procurement costs actually incurred for your order.

(c) Your module has arrived but bench work has not begun: refund minus our documented inbound/outbound shipping costs.

(d) Bench work has begun: the service is being rendered. If you cancel mid-work, we refund the portion of the price attributable to work not yet performed, minus documented shipping and procurement costs; the diagnosis/bench-time already spent is earned.

(e) The purchased service is completed as described — successful programming, cloning, coding, unlocking, data recovery, or repair verified on the bench: the price is earned and non-refundable, because delivered electronic work cannot be returned.

(f) The purchased service proves technically impossible on your specific unit: we refund the service price minus shipping costs and any evaluation fee disclosed on the service page.

(g) The service was completed as described but your vehicle's symptom persists because of a vehicle-side or different fault (Section 6): the service is delivered work under (e). Contact us first — we re-test the module on the bench free of charge under warranty.

(h) Ready-to-install and VIN-programmed parts are built for your specific vehicle and cannot be resold: they are refundable if they fail our advertised specification, and cancellation before delivery follows (b).

(i) Shipping charges (inbound labels we purchased, return shipping, re-ship requests) are refundable only where the shipment has not yet occurred and the cost is recoverable.

This section does not limit your statutory rights, rights under card-network rules, or any warranty we provide.

11. WARRANTY

Programming, cloning, and repair work carries the warranty stated on the service page (six months on programming work unless a different period is stated; hardware items such as emulators carry the period stated for them). Where a service page states a specific warranty period for that service, the service page controls. The warranty covers the work we performed on the module. It does not cover new or unrelated faults, physical damage, water damage after our service, installation errors, or work by others after our service. Warranty service is performed on the bench: contact us, ship the module back, and we re-test and correct any fault in our work at no charge.

12. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

You confirm that you own the vehicle/module or are authorized by the owner to order this service, and that the information you provide (including VIN, vehicle details, symptoms, and shipping address) is accurate. Security-related services (immobilizer, key, or anti-theft work) may require proof of ownership, and we may decline or pause work until it is provided. You are responsible for reviewing your order details on the review page before paying.

13. LAWFUL USE

Our services are for lawful repair, replacement, and diagnostics of vehicles you own or are authorized to service. We do not perform emissions-control alterations or deletions, and we do not perform odometer alteration. Mileage synchronization is performed only to match a replacement part to the vehicle's true mileage.

14. PAYMENT AND BILLING DESCRIPTOR

Payment is processed by Square on behalf of DLP Mobile Services LLC (doing business as Auto Module Lab). Your card statement may show DLP Mobile Services LLC or Auto Module Lab. Your electronic acceptance of these Terms, together with the order details shown to you at checkout, constitutes your authorization of the charge.

15. IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG

If you believe we have made an error — wrong service, defective work, item not received — contact us first at the email or phone number on your order confirmation and give us a reasonable opportunity to make it right; nearly every issue is resolved with a re-test, correction, or refund under Section 10. Nothing in these Terms waives rights you have under card-network rules or consumer-protection law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas; venue for any dispute lies in Tarrant County, Texas, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

16. ELECTRONIC RECORDS AND SIGNATURE

You agree that checking the acceptance box and typing your name at checkout constitutes your electronic signature under the U.S. E-SIGN Act and the Texas Uniform Electronic Transactions Act, that this agreement may be kept as an electronic record, and that Auto Module Lab records the exact version of these Terms you accepted, the time of acceptance, and technical details of your session (IP address and browser identifier) as evidence of the agreement.

Remote Programming Session Terms

1. WHO WE ARE AND WHAT THESE TERMS COVER

Auto Module Lab ("AML", "we", "us") is operated by DLP Mobile Services LLC, Arlington, Texas. These Remote Programming Session Terms govern remote module programming, flashing, and coding sessions you purchase from automodulelab.com — work we perform on a vehicle in YOUR custody, through your programming interface and internet connection. The mail-in module services have their own terms; if your order also includes mail-in work or hardware, the terms for those items apply to those items.

2. SCHEDULING

After purchase we contact you to schedule the session during our published hours. Please have the vehicle, interface, and laptop ready at the scheduled time. If you need to reschedule, tell us as early as you can; we reschedule at no charge except where a fee is expressly stated on the session listing.

3. YOUR SETUP — REQUIRED FOR THE SESSION

Remote programming runs entirely through equipment on your side. Before the session you must have: a stable internet connection (wired strongly recommended); a Windows laptop we can reach by the remote-access method we specify; a compatible, supported J2534 or manufacturer-specified interface, firmly connected to the vehicle; a battery maintainer or stable power supply on the vehicle rated for programming (voltage drops during a write are the leading cause of failed flashes); and the vehicle in the condition the session listing calls for. If a session cannot proceed because required setup is missing or not working, we will reschedule it; where repeated attempts fail for the same customer-side reason, a rescheduling fee applies only if one is stated on the session listing.

4. INTERRUPTED-WRITE RISK

Flashing a control module is interruptible only at real risk: a power drop, cable disconnect, laptop sleep, or internet failure DURING a write can leave the module unusable. We use recovery procedures where the platform supports them. If a write is interrupted by a failure on our side, we re-attempt and recover at our cost. If a write is interrupted by a customer-side failure (vehicle power, cable, laptop, or connection), we will attempt recovery where possible, but AML is not responsible for module damage caused by that interruption; bench recovery of a module bricked this way is available as a separate mail-in service.

5. OEM SOFTWARE, SUBSCRIPTIONS, AND PER-VIN FEES

Some manufacturers charge for programming software, subscriptions, or per-VIN calibration files. The session price includes these only where the session listing says so; otherwise the listing states what is included and what the OEM charges separately.

6. SCOPE — THE OPERATION, NOT THE VEHICLE

The session covers the programming, flashing, or coding operation described on the listing. We work through your connection and can only see what the tools show; we cannot verify your vehicle's wiring, grounds, battery health, connectors, other modules, or the diagnosis that led you to book the session. A successfully completed operation does not guarantee an unrelated vehicle symptom is resolved. Where a listing says an operation is supported "where supported" or subject to hardware/firmware verification, that verification is part of the session. This section does not excuse an operation we actually performed defectively — see Section 8.

7. CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS

Before the session is performed: full refund. Session attempted but blocked by missing customer-side setup (Section 3): we reschedule — the first reschedule is free, and any fee for later attempts must be stated on the listing. Operation attempted and not possible for reasons on our side, or the platform/vehicle combination proves unsupported despite meeting the listing requirements: full refund. Operation completed as described: the price is earned and non-refundable. This section does not limit your statutory rights or rights under card-network rules.

8. WARRANTY

If an operation we completed proves faulty — the write did not take correctly, or coding we applied is wrong — contact us: we re-connect and correct our work at no charge. The warranty covers our operation; it does not cover vehicle-side faults, later changes by others, or new unrelated failures.

9. LAWFUL USE

Sessions are for lawful repair, replacement, and configuration of vehicles you own or are authorized to service. We do not perform emissions-control alterations or deletions, and we do not perform odometer alteration.

10. PAYMENT AND BILLING DESCRIPTOR

Payment is processed by Square on behalf of DLP Mobile Services LLC (doing business as Auto Module Lab). Your card statement may show DLP Mobile Services LLC or Auto Module Lab.

11. IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG; ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE

Contact us first at the email or phone number on your order confirmation and give us a reasonable opportunity to make it right. Nothing in these Terms waives rights you have under card-network rules or consumer-protection law. These Terms are governed by Texas law; venue lies in Tarrant County, Texas, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Checking the acceptance box and typing your name at checkout constitutes your electronic signature under the U.S. E-SIGN Act and the Texas Uniform Electronic Transactions Act, and we record the accepted version, time, IP address, and browser identifier as evidence of the agreement.

Hardware & Equipment Sales Terms

Version AML-GOODS-2026-08-29-v1 · Effective August 30, 2026

SHA-256 d907580bf7914fe9aa3c78caa62bb954ba5c217a3004f02500fd822681f7aaee

1. WHAT THESE TERMS COVER

These Hardware & Equipment Sales Terms govern physical products — programming interfaces, J2534 devices, kits, cables, and similar equipment — you purchase from automodulelab.com, operated by DLP Mobile Services LLC (doing business as Auto Module Lab), Arlington, Texas. Services purchased in the same order (mail-in work, remote sessions) are governed by their own terms.

2. SHIPPING

Listed kit and device prices include standard outbound shipping within the United States unless the listing says otherwise. We are responsible for the item until the carrier records delivery to your address; if a shipment arrives damaged or goes missing in transit, contact us and we will pursue the carrier claim and make it right with a replacement or refund.

3. WHAT'S INCLUDED

Each listing states exactly what ships and what is included — device, cables, software setup, and any included configuration or session support. A device purchase does not include programming services unless the listing bundles them.

4. RETURNS

Unopened items in original packaging: return within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the purchase price; you pay return shipping, and our documented outbound shipping cost may be deducted where the listing price included it. Opened items: return within 30 days if the item is defective or not as described — we repair, replace, or refund at your choice. Items with activated software licenses, registered devices, or completed setup/configuration services can be returned on the same defective/not-as-described basis, but license and registration fees already incurred with the manufacturer are refundable only to the extent the manufacturer refunds us. We do not charge undisclosed restocking fees.

5. WARRANTY

Manufacturer warranties pass through to you, and we help you exercise them. In addition, if a device we sold is dead on arrival or fails within 30 days under normal use, contact us first — we replace it or refund it. Warranty does not cover physical damage, liquid damage, firmware modifications we did not perform, or use outside the manufacturer's specifications.

6. SUPPORT

Where a listing includes setup or session-readiness support, that support is part of the purchase. Ongoing tool support beyond the listing's scope may be offered separately.

7. LAWFUL USE

Equipment is sold for lawful vehicle repair, diagnostics, and configuration. We do not sell or configure equipment for emissions-control defeat or odometer alteration.

8. PAYMENT AND BILLING DESCRIPTOR

Payment is processed by Square on behalf of DLP Mobile Services LLC (doing business as Auto Module Lab). Your card statement may show DLP Mobile Services LLC or Auto Module Lab.
