Brand-specific questions.
My VW Jetta cluster got damaged when another locksmith tried to make a key. Can you still fix it?
Yes — this is one of our most common scenarios. The 24C64 EEPROM in the cluster gets corrupted, breaking the immobilizer chain between cluster ↔ ECU. We disable the immobilizer directly inside the ECU. Car starts with no working cluster and no matched keys required.
How do I know which MED17/ME17 variant my car has?
Pull the ECU and read the label — it lists the specific variant (e.g. MED17.5.20). Or text us a photo of the ECU label and we'll confirm before you ship. All variants covered at the same $250 flat rate.
Can you do VIN programming too?
Yes — included free with the IMMO delete service. Note your VIN on the included slip or in your order email and we'll write it before shipping back.
My VW won't crank at all. Will this fix it?
No. IMMO delete is for cars that crank briefly and shut down, or won't crank because the immobilizer is blocking fuel/spark release. If the starter isn't engaging at all, that's a different problem (battery, starter, ignition switch).
Will this work on a 2020+ VW or Audi?
Depends on the specific ECU. The MED17/ME17 family was used through ~2018-2019 on most VAG vehicles. Newer ECUs (Bosch MED17.9, SIMOS18) require different methods. Text us with your VIN to verify.
