Will This Fix My Problem?

Fixes:
- Original EIS intermittently fails — car will not start
- Replacement EIS needed but keys must keep working

Won't fix:
- 2015+ Mercedes on FBS4 (W205 and newer) — FBS4 EIS and key programming is dealer-only, with no aftermarket tool; we can clone FBS4 DSM/ISM as a separate service

- Mechanical ignition lock failure

Mercedes used the same FBS3 EIS/EZS drive-authorization system across roughly fifteen years and dozens of body codes, so instead of a separate listing per car we cover the whole span on one page: W203 and W204 C-Class, W209 CLK, W211/W212 E-Class and the W207 coupe, W219 and W218 CLS, W220 and W221 S-Class, W215/C216 CL, R230 SL, R171/R172 SLK, W164 ML, X164 GL, the FBS3 W166/X166, X204 GLK, W251 R-Class, W463 G-Class, and the W639 Vito/Viano. The hardware inside is one of three families — NEC v51/v57, Motorola on pre-2009 cars, or Renesas from 2009 to 2014 — and the donor has to match your original part number, which we verify from your VIN and label photos before you buy anything. The honest boundary: 2015 and newer cars moved to FBS4, where EIS and key programming is dealer-only and no aftermarket tool exists. We will tell you which side of that line your car falls on before you ship.
