Why won't a used Simos ECU just work when I plug it in?
Because the immobilizer relationship is stored inside the ECU and still belongs to the donor car. Cloning copies your original's identity onto the donor so the mismatch never happens; immo-off removes the requirement entirely on builds that have no key system to satisfy.
