ABS no communicationABS module fails to respond to OBD scanner

Mercedes/BMW diagnostic code. Below: what it means, common causes, symptoms, and the exact bench-programming fix path.

Common causes

  • Failed ABS controller (most common after 8-12 years)
  • Loss of power to module
  • CAN-bus fault
  • Ground point corrosion

Symptoms you'll see

  • ABS, traction, stability all disabled
  • Speedometer reads zero (some chassis)
  • Brake lights stuck on or non-functional

The fix path

Verify 12V + ground at the ABS connector. If module isn't receiving power, that's a wiring fix. If it has power but doesn't respond, ship to AML for repair ($250).

AML services that fix this

Mail in the affected module, we bench-program, ship back next business day. Flat pricing, return shipping included.
