P0513VW/Audi Incorrect Immobilizer Key

VW/Audi diagnostic code. Below: what it means, common causes, symptoms, and the exact bench-programming fix path.

Common causes

  • Key transponder not programmed to the vehicle
  • Used ECU installed (still bound to donor car's keys)
  • Cluster swap broke ECU-cluster pairing
  • Failed locksmith key attempt damaged cluster EEPROM

Symptoms you'll see

  • Crank-no-start
  • IMMO light steady or flashing
  • Same behavior with multiple keys
  • Other cluster faults often co-present

The fix path

For used-ECU scenarios, IMMO Delete eliminates the binding. For cluster-damage scenarios (2011-2016 Jetta etc.), IMMO Delete bypasses the cluster entirely. $250 covers VIN write too.
