Donor ECU not running — Used ECU installed but vehicle won't start
Universal diagnostic code. Below: what it means, common causes, symptoms, and the exact bench-programming fix path.
Common causes
- •Used ECU has prior immobilizer pairing
- •ECU not adapted to recipient vehicle
- •Component protection blocking
Symptoms you'll see
- •Same crank-no-start as immobilizer fault
- •IMMO warnings
- •Recipient car's keys not recognized
The fix path
Bench-process the ECU: IMMO delete (VW/Audi) or EWS delete (BMW pre-CAS) makes the donor ECU run without pairing requirements. For CAS+/FEM cars, more complex re-pairing required.
