P1570VW/Audi Immobilizer Active — engine start blocked

VW/Audi diagnostic code. Below: what it means, common causes, symptoms, and the exact bench-programming fix path.

Common causes

  • Cluster EEPROM (24C64) damaged from a failed key attempt
  • Cluster ↔ ECU pairing data lost
  • Used ECU installed without IMMO adaptation
  • Aftermarket key without proper coding

Symptoms you'll see

  • Engine cranks normally
  • Engine starts for ~1 second, then dies
  • "IMMO" warning on cluster (or cluster dark if 24C64 damaged)
  • No fuel pulse on second crank attempt

The fix path

VW & Audi MED17/ME17 IMMO Delete ($250). Permanently removes the immobilizer dependency at the ECU level. Works even when the cluster (24C64 EEPROM) is damaged — common from previous locksmith attempts on 2011-2016 VW Jetta.
