Because a used TIPM stays married to the vehicle it came from, and the factory Restore Vehicle Configuration routine will not rewrite the VIN on a used module — a fact techs regularly find out the expensive way. We write your VIN directly at the module level on the bench, so the unit you receive already belongs to your vehicle.
My fuel pump is the only problem. Do I need the whole module?
Possibly not, and we would rather tell you that than sell you a module. On many of these the fuel-pump relay itself is the failure and there are far cheaper fixes. Text us your symptoms and year before you order — if a relay solves it, we will say so.
