Why we use it
VVDI2 is the everyday workhorse for BMW CAS3/CAS3+/CAS4 key programming and VW/Audi MQB/MED17 immobilizer work. Active development, strong forum support, fair pricing relative to the alternatives.
When we reach for it
Most BMW key jobs through CAS4. VW/Audi cluster-based IMMO unlocks. PSA, Porsche, and other European brands within its coverage scope. We reach for VVDI2 first on these workflows before falling back to slower bench tools.
What it doesn't do
Newer F-chassis BMW FEM/BDC work is incomplete — for FEM jobs we lean on AVDI or dedicated FEM rigs. Doesn't replace dedicated EEPROM programmers for chip-off work.
