Verify battery and charging voltage
A weak battery mimics module failure. You want at least 12.4 V with the engine off and 13.5 V or better running. If voltage is low, fix that first and re-scan — C2200 set alongside genuinely low voltage is not a verdict on the module.

Check the ABS fuses and relay
A blown supply fuse produces dramatic symptoms for pocket change. Check every fuse feeding the ABS module (there are often two or three) plus the relay where fitted.

Unplug and inspect the module connector
Look for green corrosion, bent or retracted pins, and moisture. Reseat the connector firmly and re-scan. Water at the connector can imitate internal failure — and genuine water damage changes the repair conversation, so tell us if you find it.

Is my vehicle safe to drive with C2200?
Base hydraulic braking still works — the pedal stops the vehicle. What you lose is ABS, traction control, and stability control, so there is no anti-lock protection in a panic stop and no electronic help in low-grip conditions. Treat it as a repair-soon fault, and be especially careful in rain, snow, or gravel.
Will I need to bleed the brakes after the repair?
Only if you open the hydraulics. On most platforms the electronic module unbolts from the hydraulic block with the block still plumbed into the vehicle — remove it that way and no bleeding is needed. If you are unsure whether yours separates, text us a photo before pulling it.
Do I need dealer programming when the module goes back in?
