The Mazda nuance: sensor first, then module
Honesty about this platform: on MK70/MK100-era Mazdas, the most common reason for an ABS light overall is a wheel-speed sensor — an on-car part we cannot fix by mail. What separates a sensor problem from a module problem is the code itself. Sensor faults name a corner and a circuit; U3000-49 names the module’s own internals. If your scan shows only U3000-49 with clean wheel-speed data in all four channels, the module is the story.
