Will This Fix My Problem?

Honest answer: here's exactly what this service fixes — and what it doesn't.

Fixes:

  • Steering assist cuts out or the EPS warning light stays on
  • C2217 stored and the module is confirmed failed
  • A used EPS module installed that throws a VIN mismatch
  • Dealer quoting a complete steering rack assembly for a module-level fault
  • Intermittent heavy steering that returns after a restart

Won't fix:

  • Faults a software update would clear — ask us first, it may cost you nothing
  • Mechanical rack, tie rod, or torque-sensor damage inside the rack assembly
  • Wiring, connector, or charging-system problems causing assist dropout
  • Vehicles we have not verified — send your VIN and we will confirm before you order

Why everyone says used EPS modules "don't work"

Because they are programmed to the VIN of the car they came from, and installing one in a different vehicle throws a VIN mismatch and no assist. That single limitation is why the entire used-EPS market is treated as dead and why owners get quoted a whole steering rack. Rewriting the VIN at module level is exactly what our Chrysler bench tooling does — the same capability we use for TIPM and PCM work. Steering is safety-critical, so we ship it verified and we insist on a proper alignment and calibration at install.

Shipping Instructions

These details are also emailed to you the moment your payment clears.

You send nothing in — this module ships TO you. Before ordering, text or email your VIN, your stored codes, and the part number off your existing EPS module: on this system a software update sometimes resolves the fault with no part needed, and we will tell you if that is your case. Outbound shipping speed is selected and paid at checkout — Standard $24.95 (3–5 days), UPS 2-Day $54.95, or UPS overnight $94.95. Plan for a wheel alignment and steering calibration after install.

What to include in your box

  • Nothing — we ship the programmed EPS module to you
  • At checkout: your VIN (required — it is written to the module)
  • Text or email your stored codes and the module part number before ordering
  • Budget for an alignment and steering angle calibration at install

Frequently Asked

Still have a question? Text us — replies in minutes.

How does the flat price work across all these years?
The price shown covers the module and all programming for the standard applications and years listed above. Because used-module cost varies by the exact part number, we verify your specific unit before anything ships. In the rare case of a high-cost late-model application, we tell you the price up front and you approve it before we build or charge — you are never hit with a surprise surcharge after ordering.
I read that used EPS modules never work. Is that true?
It is true for an untouched used module — it stays locked to the VIN of the car it came from and throws a mismatch with no assist. That lock is precisely what we rewrite at module level on the bench, which is why we can offer this when most sellers cannot.
Could a software update fix my car instead?
Sometimes, yes — on these systems a reflash occasionally clears the fault with no parts at all. Send us your VIN and stored codes before you order and we will tell you honestly if that is worth trying first. We would rather lose the sale than sell you a module you did not need.
What does the dealer charge?
Dealers commonly replace the entire steering rack assembly, which typically runs $1,800-$2,700, and control-module replacement alone is often quoted around $1,100-$1,200. This is $449 shipped, programmed to your VIN.
What do I need to do after installing it?
Steering is a safety system, so plan on a proper wheel alignment and a steering angle sensor calibration after install — that is standard for any EPS work regardless of who supplies the part. The written notes ship in the box.
How do you confirm the right module for my vehicle?
You send your VIN, your stored codes, and the part number off your existing module before ordering, and we verify the match. We do not ship unverified units, and on a safety system we are stricter about that than anywhere else in the catalog.
