Bosch ME7.x Engine ECU Cloning — VW, Audi & Bentley Mail-In Bench Service, Immobilizer Preserved
Dropped a used ME7 ECU into your 1.8T, VR6, 2.7T, or Bentley W12 and it just cranks without catching? Mail in your original plus the donor and we clone the complete data across on the bench — immobilizer, VIN, coding, and adaptations — so the replacement runs plug-and-play and your existing keys still work.
Sending several modules? Add them all — one box, one return-shipping charge.
Bosch ME7.x Motronic petrol ECUs — ME7.1, ME7.1.1, ME7.5, ME7.5.10 and related sub-variants across VW Golf Mk4 / Jetta / New Beetle / Passat B5, Audi A4 B5–B6, A6 C5, TT Mk1, S4 / RS4 2.7T biturbo, allroad, and the 2003–2010 Bentley Continental GT / Flying Spur W12. Verified by VIN + module label before you ship.

What You Get
- Your original ME7 ECU's immobilizer relationship, VIN, coding, calibration, and learned adaptations cloned onto your donor
- A donor that installs plug-and-play with the factory immobilizer fully active and your existing keys still working
- Donor part-number compatibility verified against your VIN and both ECU labels BEFORE you buy or ship anything
- A complete bench read and verify pass of both units before a single byte is written
- Checksum-correct write plus a powered communication test on a stable, regulated supply before return
- Plain install notes — what to expect at first key-on and which adaptations relearn on their own
- Both modules returned with tracking, at the return-shipping speed you select and pay for at checkout

Will This Fix My Problem?
Honest answer: here's exactly what this service fixes — and what it doesn't.
Fixes:
- ✓Used or salvage-yard ME7 ECU installed and the engine cranks but never fires
- ✓Immobilizer-active warning or a stored immobilizer fault after an ECU swap
- ✓Original ECU failing from water ingress, corrosion, or a bad repair but still responding — cloned before it dies
- ✓Dealer or specialist quotes a coded replacement ECU on a Mk4, B5, TT Mk1, or Bentley Continental
- ✓Second-hand 2.7T or W12 ECU that needs your car's identity written to it
- ✓You want the replacement module fully ready BEFORE it goes into the car
Won't fix:
- ✗Does NOT remove the immobilizer — this service preserves it. ME7 immobilizer removal is our separate vw-audi-immo-delete-vin-program service; do not order this page expecting an immo-off.
- ✗Does NOT include emissions edits of any kind — no DPF, EGR, AdBlue/SCR, catalyst, lambda, or readiness-monitor defeat work, on any platform, for any reason
- ✗Does not include the donor ECU — you source a matching used unit and we verify the part number first
- ✗Does not revive an original that is internally dead, burnt, or will not respond on the bench — that is our ecu-advanced-recovery-service, and a completely unreadable original cannot be cloned from
- ✗Does not cover the other VW Group families — Continental Simos is vw-audi-simos-immo-clone, MED9 is vw-audi-med9-immo-clone, EDC16 and EDC17 diesel and PCR2.1 each have their own pages, and MED17 / ME17 cloning is vw-audi-bosch-ecu-clone
- ✗Does not repair or clone the instrument cluster or BCM2 body module — those are vw-audi-cluster-clone and vw-audi-bcm2-clone
- ✗Does not bypass proof of ownership, and does not fix a no-start caused by fuel, ignition, sensors, wiring, grounds, or a weak battery
Clone (this page) versus immo-off (the other page) — do not order the wrong one
Both services touch ME7, and they do opposite things. This page is the CLONE: your original's immobilizer relationship is carried onto the donor, so the factory security system stays fully active and your existing keys keep working. That is what almost every road car wants. The immo-off lives on our vw-audi-immo-delete-vin-program page, which permanently removes the immobilizer requirement from the module for a swap, standalone, or orphaned build with no cluster or keys left to satisfy. If you are not sure which you need, send the VIN and a photo of the ECU label and a technician will tell you before you pay anything.
Shipping Instructions
These details are also emailed to you the moment your payment clears.
Verify first: text or email us your VIN plus clear photos of your original ME7 ECU label and the donor's label — a technician confirms the Bosch and VAG part numbers are a compatible match, and on Bentley W12 cars tells you whether one or both engine ECUs need to come, before you ship. Then send both units to PO Box 120241, Arlington TX 76012 if you ship USPS — or 1009 Oakwood Ln # 120241, Arlington TX 76012 if you ship UPS or FedEx (UPS and FedEx cannot deliver to a PO Box). We read, clone, and communication-test on the bench, then ship everything back via the return option you pick at checkout (Standard $24.95, UPS 2-Day $54.95, or UPS overnight $94.95).
What to include in your box
- Your original ME7 ECU (as long as it powers up we can usually read it) AND the matched donor ECU
- Bentley W12: both engine ECUs if a technician told you the car uses a pair
- Year, make, model, engine code, and transmission (e.g. 2002 Audi S4 B5 2.7T biturbo, 6-speed)
- VIN of the vehicle
- The Bosch number AND the VAG part number off BOTH ECU labels — we pre-verify the match
- What is wrong now: dead original, cranks-no-start after a swap, water damage, failed repair
- Proof of ownership — title, registration, or bill of sale (required for all immobilizer work)
- Your name, return address, and an email address or phone number we can reach you at
