VW / Audi PCR2.1 ECU Immobilizer-Off & Clone (2013+ EA211 / EA888)

Used PCR2.1 that cranks but never starts, or a swap blocked by the immobilizer? Bench immo-off for a legitimate build, or a 1:1 clone onto a donor so a used ECU actually runs.

Will This Fix My Problem?

Honest answer: here's exactly what this service fixes — and what it doesn't.

Fixes:

  • Engine swap or standalone build needs the PCR2.1 immobilizer removed
  • Used PCR2.1 ECU cranks but will not start (immobilizer mismatch)
  • Orphaned / no-donor-key platform where a key path is gone
  • Replacing a failed PCR2.1 without a dealer programming session

Won't fix:

  • Emissions edits of any kind — DPF, EGR, AdBlue, catalyst (we do not offer these)
  • MED17 / ME17 petrol ECUs — see the VW/Audi MED17 immo-delete service
  • EDC16 / EDC17 diesel — see the dedicated TDI services
  • A physically destroyed ECU with unreadable memory

The newer VAG petrol ECU our MED17 service does not reach

When VW and Audi moved to the EA211 and EA888 Gen3 engines, the engine ECU became the PCR2.1 — a different family than the MED17 our other immo service handles. This service closes that gap: bench immo-off for a legitimate build, or a clone that keeps the immobilizer intact and makes a used ECU plug-and-play. Every immobilizer job requires proof of ownership, and nothing here touches emissions equipment.

Frequently Asked

Still have a question? Text us — replies in minutes.

Immo-off or clone — which do I need?
Immo-off (delete) removes the immobilizer requirement for a legitimate engine swap, standalone, or orphaned build. A clone keeps the immobilizer intact and copies your original PCR2.1 — VIN, immo, coding — onto a donor so a used ECU runs plug-and-play. Tell us which at order time; they are different bench operations.
Why won't a used PCR2.1 just start my car?
The PCR2.1 carries immobilizer data tied to its original vehicle, so a used one cranks but will not start. Cloning your original's data onto that donor makes it a module your car trusts. Immo-off is the alternative when you are deleting the immobilizer for a build.
Which cars use the PCR2.1?
A large share of 2013-and-up VW, Audi, Škoda, and SEAT models with the EA211 1.4 TSI and EA888 Gen3 2.0 TSI engines — Golf 7/GTI, Jetta, Passat B8, Audi A3 8V, A4 B9, Q3, and more. Send your VIN and part number and we confirm before you ship.
Do you require proof of ownership?
Yes. Immobilizer-off and cloning are security-relevant, so proof of ownership and valid ID or verified business credentials are required before any work is done.
Do you do emissions deletes on these?
No — we do not perform DPF, EGR, AdBlue, catalyst, or any emissions-related edits. This service is strictly immobilizer and cloning work.
