Audi Airbag Module Reset — $75 flat
Audi calls it the Airbag Control Module (J234) (J234). After a deployment it locks its crash data — the light stays on and no scan tool clears it. We reset your original module on the bench, 24–48 hours, plug-and-play on return.
Audi dealer: new J234 typically $350–$1,200 + programming + the wait for the part
Auto Module Lab: $75 flat — your original module, already matched to your Audi
What we reset on a Audi
Audi shares the VAG J234 airbag controller. A locked crash record means the light stays on through any scan-tool clear — the bench reset removes it and your coded original reinstalls without ODIS work.
Where it lives: on the transmission tunnel under the center console. Disconnect the battery, wait 10+ minutes, photograph the connectors, unbolt and ship just the module.

Audi reset questions
Where is the J234 on my Audi?
Typically on the transmission tunnel under the center console. Disconnect the battery and wait 10+ minutes before unplugging it, photograph the connectors, and ship just the module — see the packing instructions in your confirmation email.
Do you need my VIN?
It helps — add it at checkout and we verify the module matches your vehicle before the bench work. It's optional, but it catches mixed-up modules from body shops handling several cars.
Will clearing the crash data turn my Audi airbag light off?
Yes — when the light is caused by stored crash data or hard faults in the J234, clearing it removes the cause. You still need the rest of the system healthy: deployed airbags, blown seat-belt tensioners, or damaged impact sensors must be replaced or the light will return with live codes.
Is a reset safe? Will the airbags still work?
A reset returns the module to its pre-crash state — the same state it shipped in before the deployment. It does not alter the deployment logic. After reinstalling, the system self-tests on every key cycle exactly as designed. If we find internal damage that a reset can't make right, we tell you and refund instead of shipping back a module we wouldn't put in our own car.
