What "plug-and-play" means.
No dealer programming should be needed when your original data is intact, the donor matches your module (same type, hardware and software family) and the rest of the car works. It isn't a promise that the car will start or run.
Used Maserati Body Computer? It won't accept your keys until it's cloned
The Body Computer is where a Maserati stores its immobilizer secret and the authorization for every key. Install a used BCM from another car and it still carries that car's keys, so yours are rejected and the engine won't start. The dealer answer is a new module coded to your VIN, at four figures plus a tow. The bench answer is this service: as long as your original still reads, we clone its immobilizer, key authorization, config, and VIN onto the donor so your existing keys keep working — plug and play. Newer smart-key platforms are quoted separately, and proof of ownership is required before any immobilizer or key work begins.
