What does the Maserati Body Computer control, and why does it matter?
The Magneti Marelli Body Computer (BCM) is the security heart of the car: it stores the immobilizer secret, the authorization for every key, and body configuration. If it fails you get an immobilizer no-start, and a used BCM from another car carries that car's keys — so yours are rejected. Cloning copies your original's data onto the donor so your keys keep working.
Why won't a used Maserati BCM accept my keys?
Because the immobilizer secret and key authorization live inside the BCM. A donor module still holds the donor car's keys, so it won't recognize yours and the engine won't start. Cloning transfers your original BCM's immobilizer data, key authorization, config, and VIN onto the donor, so the module behaves exactly like your original.
Will my existing keys still work after the clone?
Yes, where your original BCM still reads — cloning copies the stored key authorization across, so your existing keys keep working with no re-cutting or re-keying. If your original is dead and unreadable, that changes the path, and on select systems we can support all-keys-lost at the module level. Tell us your situation up front.
Do you supply the donor BCM?
No — you source a used donor and we verify compatibility before you buy or ship anything. Match the Maserati / Magneti Marelli part number on your label as closely as possible; send photos of both labels plus your VIN and a technician confirms the pair will work before you spend money on the wrong unit.
Does this cover the newer smart-key Maseratis?
Newer smart-key / keyless-go platforms use different security and are quoted separately — not under this listing. Send us your VIN and module label photo anyway: we'll tell you honestly whether your car is covered here or needs the separate smart-key quote before you ship anything.
Can you help if all my keys are lost?
On select Maserati systems, yes — we can support all-keys-lost at the module level by working with the Body Computer on the bench. It depends on the exact platform and part number, so contact us with your VIN and label photos first and we'll confirm whether your car qualifies. Proof of ownership is required for any all-keys-lost or immobilizer work.
Is the immobilizer removed or bypassed?
No. Cloning keeps the factory immobilizer fully intact — it simply moves your car's security identity onto a healthy module. This is not an immobilizer delete or a security bypass, which is exactly why proof of ownership is required before any BCM or key work begins.
