Will This Fix My Problem?

Honest answer: here's exactly what this service fixes — and what it doesn't.

Fixes:

  • ML cranks strong but never fires — classic W163 no-start
  • Key suddenly "not recognized" after years of working
  • Intermittent starts that became a permanent no-start
  • Central locking / interior electrics acting up alongside the no-start (AAM symptoms)
  • DAS-era classic refusing to authorize a known-good key

Won't fix:

  • Lost keys with a healthy module — that is the $250 valet key or $375 remote key service
  • Fuel pump, crank position sensor, or mechanical no-start causes
  • 2000s+ EIS/FBS3 cars — see our Mercedes EIS services
  • Ignition lock cylinder mechanical failures

Fix the module, keep the keys

Replacing an AAM means sourcing a used module, then getting keys made to it anyway — two problems instead of one. Repairing YOUR module keeps the original key relationship intact: your keys, your locks, your VIN, no re-marriage of anything. That is why repair is the first move whenever the module is repairable, and why we assess before we bill for anything beyond it.

Shipping Instructions

These details are also emailed to you the moment your payment clears.

Ship the AAM (W163 ML) or DAS immobilizer unit (classics) together with a key — we need the key with its module to test and verify the repaired pairing on the bench. Text your VIN FIRST and we send exact pull instructions. Ship to PO Box 120241, Arlington TX 76012 (USPS) or 1009 Oakwood Ln # 120241, Arlington TX 76012 (UPS/FedEx). Return shipping is selected and paid at checkout — Standard $24.95, UPS 2-Day $54.95, or UPS overnight $94.95.

What to include in your box

  • The AAM or DAS immobilizer module (we confirm which box by VIN)
  • A key for the vehicle — required to verify the repaired pairing
  • VIN + year, and a note describing the exact symptoms
  • A printed order confirmation
  • Your name, return address, and phone number

Frequently Asked

Still have a question? Text us — replies in minutes.

How do I know it is the AAM and not something else?
The signature is a strong crank with no fire and no obvious fuel/spark fault, often with the key intermittently unrecognized before it failed completely — sometimes with central-locking or interior-electric quirks alongside, since the AAM owns those too. Text us the symptoms and VIN and we will give you an honest read before you ship anything.
Will my existing keys still work after the repair?
Yes — that is the point of repairing rather than replacing. Your module keeps its identity, so the keys that worked before the failure work after it. Ship one key with the module so we can verify the pairing on the bench before it returns.
What if the module cannot be repaired?
We tell you before doing further work, not after. From there the usual path is a donor module built up through our valet key service — you are never charged for a repair we could not deliver.
Is this the same START ERROR as the Sprinter one?
Same idea, different box. The T1N Sprinter START ERROR lives in the WSP/ECM relationship and has its own service. The ML no-start lives in the AAM. Both are bench synchronization/repair jobs rather than parts swaps.
My car is a 2004 SLK — is that this service?
A no-start with a known-good key on an R170 SLK can be the DAS unit, yes — ship it under this service. Lost keys on the same car is the valet ($250) or remote ($375) key service instead. Text the VIN and symptoms and we route you right.
