Will This Fix My Problem?
Honest answer: here's exactly what this service fixes — and what it doesn't.
Fixes:
- ✓Rear SAM flooded in the trunk and throwing random lighting / wiper faults
- ✓Used donor SAM installed and the car has faults or won't crank
- ✓"SAM control unit" fault stored with no working replacement path
- ✓Turn signals, wipers, or exterior lights behaving erratically after moisture
- ✓A SAM that still powers up but is corroding — clone it before it fails completely
- ✓You need a second-hand SAM made plug-and-play for your exact car
Won't fix:
- ✗Does not include the donor SAM — you source a matching used unit (we verify the part number first)
- ✗Does not revive a SAM that is internally dead or unreadable — a dead original cannot be cloned (ask about our Advanced ECU / Module Recovery service for burnt, flooded, or no-communication units)
- ✗Does not repair corroded connectors, chafed harness, or the wiring feeding the SAM
- ✗Does not fix a fault whose real cause is a bad bulb, relay, motor, switch, or ground
- ✗Does not remove or bypass component protection / the immobilizer relationship
- ✗Does not perform on-car SCN / variant coding — this is a bench data clone
- ✗Does not bypass proof of ownership
Flooded rear SAM? A plain used one won't drop in
On W164/X164/W211/W219 and their cousins the rear SAM sits low in the trunk or cargo floor, so a leaking seal, clogged drain, or blocked sunroof channel quietly floods it — and once it corrodes you get random lighting, wiper, and no-crank faults. A brand-new SAM has to be coded, and a plain used SAM still carries the donor car's configuration, so neither is a clean swap. This service clones your original's coding and data onto a part-number-matched donor so it behaves exactly like the unit that failed. Some SAMs carry component protection, which we account for during the read; a technician verifies your VIN and both module labels first, and proof of ownership is required for security-related work.
Shipping Instructions
These details are also emailed to you the moment your payment clears.
Verify first: text or email us your VIN and clear photos of your original SAM label and the donor's label — a technician confirms the part numbers are a compatible match before you ship. Then send both units to PO Box 120241, Arlington TX 76012 if you ship USPS — or 1009 Oakwood Ln # 120241, Arlington TX 76012 if you ship UPS or FedEx (UPS and FedEx cannot deliver to a PO Box). We clone on the bench, test communication, and ship everything back via the return option you pick at checkout (Standard $24.95, UPS 2-Day $54.95, or UPS overnight $94.95).
What to include in your box
- Your original SAM (front and/or rear, whichever failed — if it still powers up) AND the donor SAM
- Year, make, model, and body code (e.g. 2008 Mercedes ML350 W164)
- VIN of the vehicle
- Mercedes part number off BOTH SAM labels (we pre-verify the match)
- Which SAM it is — front (engine-bay/dash) or rear (trunk/cargo)
- What is wrong now: water damage, random lighting faults, no crank, etc.
- Proof of ownership (title, registration, or bill of sale)
- Your name, return address, and phone number
