Will This Fix My Problem?

Honest answer: here's exactly what this service fixes — and what it doesn't.

If your EIS is failing but you HAVE a working key, repair is almost always the right call: cheaper, faster, and you keep your VIN-bound module (no donor sourcing headache). If you've lost ALL keys, you need our EIS Key Replacement service instead. If you have a working key but want the certainty of a known-good donor unit, our EIS Cloning service applies. How is this different from your EIS Cloning service?
Cloning copies your EIS data onto a donor unit (you keep using the donor; original is set aside). Repair fixes the failed components INSIDE your existing EIS so you keep the original. Repair is cheaper, no donor needed, and preserves the factory VIN binding.
Do I need to send a key?
YES — at least one working key. We bench-test the repaired EIS with your actual key to verify the immobilizer chain handshake works end-to-end. Without a key, we can't verify the repair.
What if no keys work at all?
You need the Key Replacement via EIS service instead ($150). We program a fresh key directly to the EIS in that case.
Will I need to re-pair the ECU or ESL after install?
No. The repair preserves all immobilizer linkages (EIS ↔ ECU ↔ ESL). Reinstall, insert your existing key, start the car.
What if my EIS is from a different chassis (W204, W211, W221)?

Why is the repair more expensive than the cloning?
Component-level repair takes longer bench time (diagnose the specific failure, replace failed parts, full test cycle). Cloning is a faster data-copy workflow. For DAS3 W164/X164/W251 specifically, repair is usually the better value because finding a known-good donor for these chassis is expensive ($300-500 used).
