Chrysler / Dodge / Jeep Diesel ECM Cloning & P0610 Options-Data Repair — Mail-In Bench Service

Liberty CRD throwing P0610 and refusing to behave, or an EcoDiesel that cranks and won't start after a used ECM went in? Mail in the module and we repair the corrupted options data or clone your identity onto a matched donor on the bench — immobilizer and options work only, never an emissions edit.

Will This Fix My Problem?

Honest answer: here's exactly what this service fixes — and what it doesn't.

Fixes:

  • 2005–2006 Jeep Liberty CRD setting P0610 Control Module Vehicle Options that will not clear and stay cleared
  • Liberty CRD running poorly, derated, or refusing to start after the ECM's stored options data corrupted
  • EcoDiesel Grand Cherokee or Ram 1500 that cranks but will not start after a used ECM was installed
  • Failed diesel ECM being replaced with a salvage unit that needs your identity and calibration on it
  • Water-, corrosion-, or connector-damaged diesel ECM that still responds — cloned out before it fails completely
  • You want the replacement diesel ECM ready and verified before it ever goes on the truck

Won't fix:

  • Does NOT include DPF, EGR, AdBlue/SCR, or any other emissions delete or defeat — we do not offer it at any price, on any vehicle
  • Does not include the donor ECM — you source a matched used unit and we verify the part number first
  • Does not revive an ECM that is internally dead or unreadable — that routes to ecu-advanced-recovery-service
  • Does not diagnose or repair mechanical diesel faults: injectors, high-pressure pump, turbo, glow plugs, fuel contamination, or a plugged filter
  • Does not fix no-starts caused by batteries, grounds, corroded connectors, wiring, or a failed relay
  • Does not remove or bypass the factory immobilizer — the security relationship is preserved, not defeated
  • Does not bypass proof of ownership — immobilizer-linked work requires it, no exceptions

Diesel work here means identity and options data — not emissions

Diesel bench services attract emissions-delete requests, so the boundary is stated plainly: Auto Module Lab does immobilizer, identity, options-data, and calibration-transfer work on diesel controllers, and nothing else. We do not remove DPF, EGR, AdBlue/SCR, or NOx functionality; we do not disable emissions monitors; we do not write delete files supplied by a customer. Federal law treats defeat devices as illegal for road vehicles and we will not touch them, which is also why we decline the job rather than quote it. What we will do is repair a Liberty CRD's corrupted vehicle-options block so P0610 stops, or clone your EcoDiesel's identity onto a matched donor so a used ECM starts your truck. Proof of ownership is required.

Shipping Instructions

These details are also emailed to you the moment your payment clears.

Verify first: text or email us your VIN plus clear photos of your ECM's label (and the donor's label, if you already have one) — a technician confirms the controller family and part-number match, and confirms the job is an options-data repair or a clone, before you ship anything. Then send the module or modules to PO Box 120241, Arlington TX 76012 if you ship USPS — or 1009 Oakwood Ln # 120241, Arlington TX 76012 if you ship UPS or FedEx (UPS and FedEx cannot deliver to a PO Box). We back up the original, do the identity/options work on the bench, verify the write, test communication, and ship everything back via the return option you pick at checkout (Standard $24.95, UPS 2-Day $54.95, or UPS overnight $94.95). No emissions edits are performed on any module we receive.

What to include in your box

  • Your original diesel ECM — and the donor ECM as well if this is a clone job
  • Year, make, model, and engine (e.g. 2006 Jeep Liberty CRD 2.8L, or 2015 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel)
  • VIN of the vehicle
  • The Mopar part number and hardware revision off BOTH module labels so we can confirm the match
  • The exact fault: P0610 stored, cranks-no-start after ECM swap, derate, no communication, water damage, etc.
  • A photo or list of any other stored trouble codes, plus whether the truck currently starts
  • Proof of ownership (title, registration, or bill of sale)
  • Your name and return address, and an email address or mobile number we can reach you at

Frequently Asked

Still have a question? Text us — replies in minutes.

Do you delete DPF, EGR, or AdBlue?
No. Not on this service, not on any service, not for any price. Auto Module Lab does not perform emissions deletes or defeats of any kind — no DPF, no EGR, no AdBlue/SCR, no NOx defeat, and no tuning that alters emissions-related calibration. Defeat devices are illegal on road vehicles and we decline the work rather than quote it. What we do on diesel controllers is identity, immobilizer, vehicle-options, and calibration-transfer work.
What exactly is P0610 on a Liberty CRD?
P0610 is Control Module Vehicle Options — the ECM's stored block of VIN and vehicle-configuration data no longer reads as valid or no longer agrees with the rest of the vehicle. On the 2005–2006 Liberty CRD's Bosch EDC16 it is a well-known failure: the code returns after every scan-tool clear because the underlying stored data is the problem, not the code. We rewrite that identity and options data on the bench so the module is internally consistent again.
Will fixing the options data definitely make my Liberty CRD run?
It removes the cause of P0610 and restores the ECM's identity, which is what the code is complaining about. It cannot fix a mechanical or electrical fault that happens to be present at the same time — injectors, the high-pressure pump, glow plugs, corroded connectors, and battery/ground problems all produce their own symptoms. Send us the full stored-code list with your VIN and we will tell you honestly whether the bench work is likely to be the whole answer.
Why won't a used EcoDiesel ECM start my truck?
Because the EDC17 controller carries an identity and an immobilizer relationship tied to the truck it came out of. Plug in a salvage ECM and the anti-theft system does not recognize it, so you get a crank with no start. Cloning writes your original's identity, immobilizer relationship, and calibration onto the donor, so the truck sees the module it expects and the donor installs plug-and-play.
How do I pick a compatible donor ECM?
Match the Mopar part number and hardware revision on the label as closely as you can — the same base part number is the goal, and a same-year, same-engine truck is not automatically a match. Send us the donor listing photos alongside a photo of your original's label and your VIN, and we will confirm or reject the pairing before you buy. That check is free and it saves the most common wasted shipment.
My original diesel ECM is completely dead. What then?
If it will not power up or communicate on the bench there is no data to copy, so a clone is not possible. Those jobs route to our advanced recovery service (ecu-advanced-recovery-service), where we attempt a direct read from the board. Contact us with the VIN, the symptoms, and photos of the module before shipping and we will give you a straight assessment of the odds.
Do you handle gas Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram controllers too?
Yes, under different listings. If you need a gas PCM sourced and programmed to your VIN so you install nothing but the finished part, that is chrysler-pcm-programmed-replacement. If you need a modified Mopar controller returned to factory calibration, that is stock-oem-reprogramming-mopar. Text or email us the VIN and the module label and we will point you to the right service.
How much is it and how does the mail-in work?
It is $250 flat for either path — the Liberty CRD options-data repair or an EDC16/EDC17 clone onto your donor. After a technician verifies your VIN and module labels, you ship to Auto Module Lab in Arlington, TX; this is a mail-in bench service only, with no vehicle visit involved. We do the work, verify it, and ship back with tracking. Return shipping is paid at checkout at the speed you choose: Standard $24.95, UPS 2-Day $54.95, or UPS overnight $94.95.
