Will This Fix My Problem?

Honest answer: here's exactly what this service fixes — and what it doesn't.

Fixes:

  • LS/LT swap where the ECU cranks but won't run (anti-theft)
  • Standalone / marine / off-road build needs the immobilizer removed
  • Orphaned vehicle with no working anti-theft path
  • Donor ECU that will not run outside its original car

Won't fix:

  • Emissions edits — catalyst, EVAP, EGR, DPF (we do not offer these)
  • Transmission controller work — see the GM TCM services
  • Tuning/calibration — this is immobilizer removal, not a tune
  • A physically destroyed ECU with unreadable memory

Make a GM ECU run on its own

The GM anti-theft system is designed to stop the engine from running outside its original vehicle — great for theft prevention, a wall for a swap. A bench immobilizer-off removes that requirement so the ECU runs standalone, which is what an LS/LT swap into an older chassis, a marine or off-road build, or an orphaned vehicle needs. It is an anti-theft operation only: proof of ownership is required, and no emissions equipment is touched.

Frequently Asked

Still have a question? Text us — replies in minutes.

Will this let my swapped LS/LT run without the donor car's security?
Yes — that is exactly what the immobilizer-off does. It removes the anti-theft requirement so the E98/E80/E82/E84 runs standalone, which is what an LS/LT swap into an older or non-GM chassis needs. Your harness still has to provide power, ground, and the right inputs.
Is this a tune?
No — this is immobilizer removal only, not a calibration or performance tune. It makes the ECU run outside its original vehicle; it does not change fueling, timing, or emissions.
Do you touch the emissions systems?
No. We do not delete or disable the catalyst, EVAP, EGR, or DPF. This is strictly an anti-theft/immobilizer operation.
Which GM ECUs are covered?
The E98 (MPC5674) and E80/E82/E84 (MPC5676) families, plus related units — send your ECU part number and we confirm before you ship.
Do you require proof of ownership?
Yes. Immobilizer work requires proof of ownership and valid ID or verified business credentials before any work is done.
