1998–2005 Dodge Ram, Dakota & Durango Kelsey-Hayes 325 ABS Repair
Trucks with four-wheel ABS that carry a Kelsey-Hayes EBC325 module; trucks with rear-wheel-only ABS carry a different Kelsey-Hayes module, so the label decides. Bench-program by mail at our Arlington, TX workshop — $325 flat, about a week on the bench, flat-rate return shipping at checkout.
Text us a photo of the module label before you order: trucks of these years also used other ABS modules, and only a Kelsey-Hayes 325 is this $325 repair.

1998–2005 Dodge Ram, Dakota & Durango: what we see on the bench
From our bench
None of our ABS orders so far has been a Dodge with a Kelsey-Hayes 325 (our order records start in June 2026), so this page is built from the published sources below rather than from our own bench results. Text us your codes and a photo of the module's label before you order.
How common it is
NHTSA's complaint file says little about it: 15 of the 1,468 complaints about the 2001 Ram and 19 of the 1,359 about the 2003 mention ABS (our count), among them a burnt ABS controller, water at its connector and a harness fire next to it. NHTSA complaint data: 2003 Dodge Ram
Kelsey-Hayes built the EBC325 ABS for GM, Ford and some Dodge light trucks and SUVs (Phoenix Systems, a brake-tool maker), and AA1Car's ABS chart lists it on the 1998 Dodge Ram and Dakota. The electronic module bolts to the pump and valve unit and carries its own part number on a label on top; read it before ordering anything. Trucks with rear-wheel-only ABS carry a different Kelsey-Hayes module, and the 2006 and later Rams have their own page.

Will This Fix My Problem?
Honest answer: here's exactly what this service fixes — and what it doesn't.
Fixes:
- ABS light on and staying on, often with the red BRAKE light
- The ABS pump running when it should not, or not running when it should
- Warning lights that return soon after the codes are cleared, with the wheel sensors checked
Won't fix:
- Failed wheel speed sensors and hub bearing assemblies — a very common cause of ABS lights on these trucks and not a module fault
- Mechanical failure of the ABS pump or hydraulic unit
- Air in the brake system, low fluid, or a failed master cylinder
- Wiring, connector and ground faults between the module and the sensors
- Worn pads, rotors and normal brake service items
- A board damaged beyond economical repair — assessed and reported before any charge
Before you order
You diagnose, we service the module.
We don't have your car and we don't diagnose it. Order once you or your mechanic have confirmed this module is the cause. If the work is completed and the car still has the same symptom because of another fault, the work is still done — a bench re-test under warranty is free.
A clone copies what is in your module.
We transfer the data as we read it. If another shop or tool already worked on the module — an unfinished clone, a tune, a delete — that data can come across too. Tell us before you ship.
What "plug-and-play" means.
No dealer programming should be needed when your original data is intact, the donor matches your module (same type, hardware and software family) and the rest of the car works. It isn't a promise that the car will start or run.
Shipping Instructions
These details are also emailed to you the moment your payment clears.
What to include in your box
- Text us a photo of the module label first. Trucks with rear-wheel-only ABS carry a different Kelsey-Hayes module, and the year alone does not settle it.
- Ship the electronic module only; it unbolts from the pump and valve unit, which stays on the truck.
- If the ABS pump runs nonstop, pull its fuse so the motor does not burn out, and put it back after the repair.
- Look at the connector: 2003 Ram owners report water at it, a burnt controller and a harness fire. A damaged connector or harness has to be repaired on the truck.
- A 1998–2003 Ram van or wagon with four-wheel ABS: check recall 04V-185 first; dealers inspect the ABS module connector and replace it where needed.
- We email you a prepaid label to send it in. Pick standard, 2-day or overnight return at checkout.
