Clone it — $350 flat
Mail your original ECU and a donor with the same full part number. We copy the original's VIN, immobilizer data, coding and adaptations onto the donor, typically within 24 hours of arrival, so it installs with the factory immobilizer intact. Every family on this page, one price. Immobilizer stays on; no emissions edits.
Toyota / Lexus / Scion engine ECU clone serviceAdapt it on the car — remote Techstream, $250
Some cars still want an on-car step after a module swap — an ECU communication ID registration on a smart-key car, a calibration update, or a key registration. Plug a J2534 pass-thru interface into the car and we run the factory Techstream software on it from our bench — no dealer visit. The same session covers programming after any other Toyota or Lexus module replacement.
Book the Toyota / Lexus remote sessionHow to read a Toyota ECU label
Toyota part numbers are a five-digit part type, a hyphen, and a five-character suffix. 89661 is "computer, engine control" (89666 and 89660 appear on some hybrids and newer cars). The first two characters of the suffix are the model code — 06 for Camry, 04 for the 2005-and-later Tacoma, 0C for Tundra and Sequoia, 35 for 4Runner, 42 and 0R for RAV4, 48 for Highlander and the Lexus RX — and the last three pick the exact engine, drivetrain, market, tow package and revision. This lookup matches on the model code.
The same label carries the Denso number (a 10-digit number starting 275 or 1758) and, on the controller itself, the processor generation that decides whether the unit is a routine bench clone: NEC 76F00xx (Gen1, roughly 2005–2009), D76F01xx or 02xx (Gen2, roughly 2010–2017) or Renesas R7F7012xx (Gen3, roughly 2018 on). Either number is enough for us to identify the module from a photo.
Two trucks of the same year and engine can carry two different ECM numbers — a tow-package Tundra has its own — and a Camry can carry a 89661-06 or a 89661-33 number depending on the plant and the year. The label beats the model year every time; when the lookup shows more than one code for your engine, that is why.

Frequently asked questions
Where is the part number on a Toyota engine ECU?
On the label of the module itself, printed as 89661-XXYYY next to the Denso number. On most Toyotas the ECM is behind the glovebox or on the passenger-side kick panel; on trucks and many Lexus models it is in the engine bay in a plastic box near the battery or firewall. You can usually read the label without unplugging anything.
Does the donor ECM have to match the whole part number?
Yes — the full 89661-XXYYY number. The model code (what this lookup matches) tells you the family; the last three characters select the engine, transmission, market, tow package and revision. A clone copies your original’s data onto a donor; it cannot bridge a calibration mismatch, so we check both numbers by VIN before you buy.
My model code is not in the list. Can you still clone it?
Very likely. The catalog lists the common US codes, not every number Toyota printed in thirty years. Text us a photo of the label with the VIN and we tell you the family and whether it is a routine bench clone, usually within minutes.
What does “confirmed by label first” mean on the newest cars?
Toyotas from about 2018 — TNGA Camry, RAV4, Corolla, Highlander, the newest trucks — run the Denso Gen3 controller on a Renesas RH850 processor. Those units read on the bench with current tooling, but we confirm the exact unit from your label before you pay rather than promise a clone on a number we have not seen.
Does the clone carry the immobilizer and my keys?
Yes. On turn-key Toyotas the key data lives in the ECM, so the cloned donor accepts your existing keys. On smart-key cars the ECM is paired with the certification ECU and ID code box; the clone carries that pairing across. If a car still wants an on-car registration afterwards, the remote Techstream session over J2534 does it for $250 — no dealer visit.
