Diesel ECM, PCM & FICM Repair — Mail-In Bench Service

Duramax · Powerstroke · Mopar diesel · Sprinter CDI · TDI — board-level repair, cloning and bench programming

Diesel control modules fail differently from petrol ones, mostly because of what they are asked to drive. High-current injector output stages, long duty cycles, sustained underhood heat and — in the salt states — twenty years of corrosion at the connector all take their toll on the same handful of places on the board.

That is what a bench repair targets. Not the whole module, which is rarely the thing that failed, but the driver stage, the supply section, or the joints behind them that finally opened after enough thermal cycles.

One boundary, stated plainly because a diesel page is exactly where the request arrives: we do not offer DPF, EGR, DEF or AdBlue deletes on any platform, and we will not modify a module to disable emissions equipment. If that is what you are looking for, we are not the right lab.

Diesel platforms we work on

Pick your platform. Every row links to a service we actually sell, or says plainly that we do not cover it.

Duramax LB7 / LLY2001-2005

Separate FICM drives the injectors. Board-level repair of the driver and supply sections.

Module: Fuel Injection Control Module

Duramax LBZ2006-2007

Injector drivers integrated into the ECM. Dead modules, no-communication faults and driver failures.

Module: E35 engine control module

Duramax LMM2007.5-2010

The emissions-era Duramax. Same integrated-driver architecture, its own hardware.

Module: E35B engine control module

Ford 6.0 Powerstroke2003-2010

The FICM power-supply rebuild — hard cold starts, rough running, no-start with a sagging FICM voltage.

Module: Fuel Injection Control Module

Ford 6.7 Powerstroke2011-2016

PCM board-level repair — dead modules, lost communication, crank-no-start with no fuel commanded.

Module: Powertrain control module

Mopar diesel (Cummins-powered Ram)By module label

Bench cloning of the diesel ECM onto a donor so a replacement works with your truck.

Module: Diesel engine control module

Mercedes Sprinter CDIBy module label

CDI engine control module cloning for the Sprinter van platform.

Module: CDI engine control module

Cummins CM-family controllersCM2200 / CM2350 / CM2450

Board-level repair of the standalone Cummins engine controllers used in commercial and heavy-duty applications.

Module: Cummins engine control module

In development. We are validating a bench process on the CM controller family and are not accepting these modules yet — text us and we will tell you exactly where we stand.
Heavy truck (PACCAR, Detroit, Caterpillar)Class 8 applications

MX-13, DDEC IV/V and the Caterpillar engine-controller families.

Module: Heavy-truck engine controllers

Under feasibility assessment, not offered. Class 8 controllers are a step up in complexity and consequence, and we will only offer this if we can do it properly.

Duramax LB7 / LLY FICM Repair
GM

Duramax LB7 / LLY FICM Repair

No-start, dead miss, or a Duramax that runs rough on half its cylinders? On an LB7 or LLY the injector drivers live in a separate FICM — we repair that module on the bench and send your original back.

Duramax E35 ECM Repair (2006-2007)
GM

Duramax E35 ECM Repair (2006-2007)

No communication, a dead ECM, or injector-driver faults on a 2006-2007 Duramax? The E35 puts the injector drivers inside the ECM — we repair that board and return your original, VIN and calibration intact.

$499.95View details →
Duramax E35B ECM Repair (LMM)
GM

Duramax E35B ECM Repair (LMM)

LMM Duramax down with a dead ECM, no communication, or injector-driver faults? We repair the E35B at board level and send your original back with its calibration intact.

Ford 6.0 Powerstroke FICM Repair
Ford

Ford 6.0 Powerstroke FICM Repair

Hard start, rough idle, or no-start on your 6.0 Powerstroke? The FICM is the usual suspect — we rebuild its failed power supply on the bench and ship it back stronger.

Ford 6.7 Powerstroke PCM Repair
Ford

Ford 6.7 Powerstroke PCM Repair

Dead PCM, no communication, or a 6.7 Powerstroke that cranks and will not fuel? We repair the powertrain control module at board level and return your original.

Mopar Diesel ECM Clone & P0610 Repair
Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep

Mopar Diesel ECM Clone & P0610 Repair

Liberty CRD throwing P0610 and refusing to behave, or an EcoDiesel that cranks and won't start after a used ECM went in? Mail in the module and we repair the corrupted options data or clone your identity onto a matched donor on the bench — immobilizer and options work only, never an emissions edit.

Sprinter / Mercedes CDI ECM Clone
Mercedes

Sprinter / Mercedes CDI ECM Clone

Dropped a used engine computer into your Sprinter or CDI Mercedes and now it cranks forever but never fires? The ECM carries the immobilizer relationship with the EIS/SKREEM, so a donor from another van will never start yours until the data is moved across. Mail in your original plus a matched donor and we clone identity, immobilizer, and calibration on the bench.

Frequently asked

Still not sure which module you need? Text us your VIN — replies in minutes.

Do you offer DPF, EGR or DEF deletes?
No — not on any platform, and this is not a policy we make exceptions to. We repair hardware failures so a truck runs correctly as it was built. If you are looking for an emissions delete, we are not the right lab and we would rather tell you that up front than waste your shipping.
How do I know whether my problem is the module at all?
Most of the time it is not, and that is worth knowing before you spend anything. Injectors, fuel supply, wiring, grounds, sensors and aftertreatment hardware cause the large majority of diesel driveability complaints. The conditions that genuinely implicate a module are loss of communication with power and ground confirmed at the connector, driver faults across a whole bank, or a fault that tracks module temperature. Text us your codes and we will give you an honest read for free.
Will I get my own module back?
On our repair services, yes — they are repairs, not exchanges. Your module is opened, repaired and returned with its data and configuration intact, which is why there is usually nothing to reprogram afterwards. Our cloning services work differently: there you supply a donor and we transfer your data onto it.
How long does a diesel bench repair take?
Typically 3-5 business days on the bench once your module arrives, plus transit each way. Board-level work with load testing and thermal cycling is not a same-day service. You choose the return speed at checkout, so a working truck can have the trip home compressed to a day.
Do you work with shops and fleets?
Regularly — a large share of our diesel volume is trade work. Ship with the shop as the return address and a job number on the note, and we will text updates to whichever number you nominate. Good diagnostic notes make the bench work faster.
Where is the work done?
At our own bench in Arlington, Texas. Auto Module Lab is a nationwide mail-in electronics lab with one location — no branches, no local technicians in other cities, and no subcontracting.
