2011–2020 Dodge Journey: what we see on the bench
From our bench
A recent Journey order was a 2016 SXT with the 3.6L. Before ordering, the owner texted photos and the assembly's part number, P68272500AB, and we asked for the complete ABS/HCU assembly. It arrived September 8, 2026; we backed up the module's stored identity (EEPROM) first, finished the work, programmed it and shipped it back September 21, and it was delivered September 25.
How common it is
As of October 2026, 51 of the 553 complaints in NHTSA's public file on the 2015 Journey are filed under electronic stability control, the system the ABS module runs. NHTSA: 2015 Dodge Journey complaints and recalls
Mopar sells the Journey's ABS in two halves, the electronic module and the hydraulic control unit. The 2012–2017 modules supersede to 68194693AG or 68194695AG (the 2011 68089576AA also goes to 68194695AG), 2018–2020 modules are 68397222AA or AB, and hydraulic unit 68164594AA covers 2012–2020. FCA's recall kit came in versions with and without hill start assist, so read the label on your own unit before ordering anything.

The 2011–2020 Dodge Journey ABS codes, and what they usually mean
Seeing one of these on your scan tool? Here's what it usually points to on this vehicle.
ABS control module internal failure
FCA's recall procedure replaces the module when C2200 stays after the ground and connector repair
ABS pump-motor supply voltage low
The pump-motor driver or supply inside the module, occasionally the pump motor itself
Lost communication with the ABS module
The module has gone quiet on the bus; prove power, ground and the connector first
Battery voltage low
Battery, charging or a module ground; not a module verdict on its own
Sensor circuit or signal at one named wheel
A sensor, tone ring or wiring at that corner, not the module

Will This Fix My Problem?
Honest answer: here's exactly what this service fixes — and what it doesn't.
Fixes:
- ABS, traction-control and brake warning lights on at the same time
- Stability control and traction control switched off, while the pedal still brakes normally
- Cruise control stops working along with the lights
- Code C2200 still stored after the ground wiring and connector check out
- The ABS lamp flashes nonstop after a new or used module is fitted, because it was never initialized
Won't fix:
- Wheel speed sensor failures (sensor replacement is on-car work)
- Hydraulic pump or valve body mechanical failure (we repair electronics, not pump motors)
- Brake line / fluid issues
Before you order
You diagnose, we service the module.
We don't have your car and we don't diagnose it. Order once you or your mechanic have confirmed this module is the cause. If the work is completed and the car still has the same symptom because of another fault, the work is still done — a bench re-test under warranty is free.
A clone copies what is in your module.
We transfer the data as we read it. If another shop or tool already worked on the module — an unfinished clone, a tune, a delete — that data can come across too. Tell us before you ship.
What "plug-and-play" means.
No dealer programming should be needed when your original data is intact, the donor matches your module (same type, hardware and software family) and the rest of the car works. It isn't a promise that the car will start or run.
Shipping Instructions
These details are also emailed to you the moment your payment clears.
What to include in your box
- Text us photos of the unit and its label first. We tell you whether to send the electronic module alone or the complete ABS/HCU assembly; for a 2016 Journey in September 2026 we asked for the complete assembly.
- If you separate the module from the hydraulic unit yourself, follow FCA's procedure: clean the unit, remove the four screws, and part the two halves about 1.5 inches (38 mm) before lifting the module away, or the pressure sensor or pump-motor connection can be damaged. FCA says not to reuse the twelve solenoid valve-stem seals.
- Bleeding: taking only the electronic module off the hydraulic unit does not open the brake circuit, so it needs no bleed. Removing the whole assembly does, so cap the brake lines and ports, and bleed the brakes after it goes back in, scan-tool assisted if air may have reached the hydraulic unit.
- Put your VIN and the part number from the label in the box.
- We email you a prepaid label to send it in. Pick standard, 2-day or overnight return at checkout.
