Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep & Ram BCM Cloning — Mail-In Body Control Module Bench Service (2011–2023)

Multiple electrical faults at once, or a used BCM that the truck simply ignores? Mail in your original Body Control Module plus a part-number-matched donor and we clone the configuration, coding, and VIN across on the bench so the replacement installs plug-and-play without a dealer wiTECH session.

What transfers on a clone

Vehicle configuration and option content (the build's coding)VIN written to the donor so the module reports as yoursModule-level identity so the rest of the CAN network accepts itStored settings the module owns, where readableResult: a replacement that installs without a dealer wiTECH configuration session

Common reasons customers order

Water intrusion into the BCM footwell or cowl areaDead BCM — no communication, no wake-up, nothing respondsSeveral unrelated electrical faults appearing at once (lights, locks, wipers, chimes)A used BCM was installed and simply does not work in the vehicleParasitic drain traced to a BCM that will not go to sleepAvoiding a dealer trip for module configuration after a replacement

Verify before you order

Donor part number must match — a same-year same-model donor is not automatically a matchSome newer vehicles carry security-gateway (SGW) considerations for the at-the-car stepsA BCM that is internally dead cannot be read, so it cannot be clonedImmobilizer-linked configurations require proof of ownershipSend your VIN plus photos of both module labels and we confirm free before you ship

Will This Fix My Problem?

Honest answer: here's exactly what this service fixes — and what it doesn't.

Fixes:

  • Used BCM installed and the vehicle does not accept it — dead dash, no crank, or no response
  • Water-damaged or corroded BCM that still powers up, cloned out before it fails completely
  • Multiple simultaneous electrical faults — lighting, locks, wipers, horn, chimes — traced to the BCM
  • No-comms / U-code network faults pointing at an unconfigured or mismatched body module
  • Replacement BCM needs your VIN and option content written so the rest of the network accepts it
  • You want to avoid a dealer configuration appointment after a BCM swap

Won't fix:

  • Does not include the donor BCM — you source a part-number-matched used unit and we verify it first
  • Does not clone a BCM that is internally dead and will not power up or respond — nothing can be read from it
  • Does not repair the TIPM / power distribution center — that is a different part with its own service
  • Does not repair the PCM, SKIM, or engine-side controllers — those are separate listings
  • Does not repair harness, ground, connector, or fuse faults that mimic a failed BCM
  • Does not perform at-the-car security-gateway (SGW) unlock or dealer network procedures for you
  • Does not bypass proof of ownership on immobilizer-linked configurations

Why a used Chrysler BCM "never works"

A Chrysler group BCM is not a generic part. It stores your VIN and your build's option content, and the rest of the CAN network expects those values to match the car it is sitting in. Bolt in a scrapyard module and the vehicle typically ignores it — dead dash, no crank, or a spray of unrelated electrical faults — because the donor is still describing a different car. The dealer answer is a wiTECH configuration session. The bench answer is a clone: we copy your original's configuration, coding, and VIN onto the matched donor so it arrives already believing it belongs to your vehicle. It only works if your original can still be read, and only if the donor part number matches, which is exactly what we verify first.

Shipping Instructions

These details are also emailed to you the moment your payment clears.

Verify first: text or email us your VIN plus clear photos of your original BCM's part-number label and the donor's label — a technician confirms the part numbers are a compatible match, and flags any security-gateway (SGW) considerations for your vehicle, before you ship. Once verified, remove both modules and ship them to PO Box 120241, Arlington TX 76012 if you ship USPS — or 1009 Oakwood Ln # 120241, Arlington TX 76012 if you ship UPS or FedEx (UPS and FedEx cannot deliver to a PO Box). We read, back up, and clone on the bench, test communication, and ship both back via the return option you pick at checkout (Standard $24.95, UPS 2-Day $54.95, or UPS overnight $94.95).

What to include in your box

  • Your original BCM (it must still power up to be readable) AND the part-number-matched donor BCM
  • Fuse-box BCM vehicles: ship the complete assembly for both original and donor
  • Year, make, model, and engine (e.g. 2016 Ram 1500 5.7L)
  • VIN of the vehicle
  • Chrysler part number off BOTH module labels so we can pre-verify the match
  • What is wrong now: water damage, dead module, used BCM not accepted, multiple electrical faults
  • Proof of ownership (title, registration, or bill of sale) for immobilizer-linked configurations
  • A clear photo of the module label, plus your name, return address, and email

Frequently Asked

Still have a question? Text us — replies in minutes.

Which vehicles does this BCM cloning service cover?
Roughly 2011–2023 Chrysler group Body Control Modules: Ram 1500 and heavy duty, Dodge Charger, Challenger, Durango and Journey, Chrysler 300 and Pacifica, Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2, Wrangler JK and JL, Compass and Renegade. It also covers the separate 2013–2018 Dodge Dart, Chrysler 200, and Jeep Cherokee KL fuse-box BCM, where the module and the fuse block are a single assembly. Coverage is decided by the part number on the label, so send us your VIN and a photo and we will confirm before you ship.
Why doesn't a used BCM work when I just plug it in?
The BCM stores your VIN and your build's option content, and the rest of the vehicle network expects those values to match. A donor module is still describing the car it came out of, so the vehicle typically ignores it — dead dash, no crank, or a batch of unrelated electrical faults. Cloning copies your original's configuration, coding, and VIN across so the donor arrives already matching your vehicle.
Is a BCM the same thing as a TIPM?
No, and this is the single most common mix-up on these vehicles. The TIPM is the power distribution center — relays and high-current circuits. The BCM is the logic module that controls body functions and talks on the network. They fail differently and are serviced differently: if your problem is the power distribution unit, our TIPM service is the right listing, not this one.
Do I still need a dealer wiTECH session afterwards?
On supported applications, no — that is the point of cloning. The donor comes back carrying your original's configuration, coding, and VIN, so it installs plug-and-play. Some newer vehicles carry security-gateway (SGW) considerations for at-the-car steps, and where that applies to your VIN we tell you before you ship rather than after you have paid.
How do I pick a compatible donor BCM?
Match the Chrysler part number on your original's label as closely as possible. A same-year, same-model donor is not automatically a match — hardware and software suffix levels matter. Send us photos of your label and the donor listing before you buy and we will verify the pair free of charge.
My BCM is completely dead — can you still clone it?
If the module will not power up or respond, there is nothing to read, so a clone is not possible. In that situation the usual path is a donor programmed to your vehicle by other means, or a dealer configuration session. Send us your VIN and symptoms first and we will tell you honestly whether your original is likely readable before you ship anything.
Will this fix my electrical gremlins for sure?
It fixes the ones caused by a failed or unconfigured body control module. It cannot repair harness damage, corroded grounds, bad connectors, blown fuses, or a failed TIPM — those mimic BCM failure convincingly and must be diagnosed on the vehicle. Cloning restores the module; it does not repair the wiring around it.
How much is it and how does the mail-in work?
It is $250 flat. After a technician verifies both part numbers by VIN and label, you ship the original and the donor to Auto Module Lab. We back up, read, and clone on the bench, test communication, and ship both back with tracking — return speed your choice at checkout: Standard $24.95, UPS 2-Day $54.95, or UPS overnight $94.95. This is a mail-in bench service only.
